£110 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Are you a Maths graduate with a passion for your subject and an interest in teaching—but not quite ready to commit to teacher training yet?
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive secondary school in Newport, working within a strong and well-established Maths department.
The school is seeking a confident and motivated Maths graduate to deliver pre-planned Maths lessons to pupils in Years 7–9, supporting learning, managing behaviour, and developing the skills needed for a future career in teaching.
The Role

Deliver pre-prepared Maths lessons planned by the Head of Maths

Teach Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9 only)

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
-
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment

Build strong relationships with pupils and staff

Gain invaluable classroom experience ahead of teacher training

The Ideal Candidate

Holds (or is working towards) a degree in Maths or a related subject

Strong Maths knowledge at A-Level or degree level

Confident communicator with good classroom presence

Willing to learn and apply behaviour management strategies

Positive, resilient, and enthusiastic about working with young people

Considering teacher training in the future (desirable but not essential)
No teaching qualification required.
