Cover Supervisor – Welsh Desirable (Not Essential)
Location: Newport & Surrounding Areas
Sector: Welsh Medium & English Medium Secondary Schools
Overview:
Due to high demand, Teaching Personnel are looking for confident and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across our partnered Secondary Schools in Newport and the surrounding areas. While the ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable, it is not essential — strong communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners are what really matter.

Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment in line with school policies.
- Support continuity of learning by collaborating with teaching staff.
- Act as a professional, confident role model for students.
- Demonstrate strong communication and time‑management skills.
Ideal Applicants:
You may be a great fit if you are:
- A recent university graduate (any subject) looking to gain school experience.
- A current Cover Supervisor with front‑of‑class experience.
- A youth worker, sports coach, or similar with experience working with young people.
- A Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step into leading lessons.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
