Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Maths graduates to support students across schools in the Newcastle area. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire young people, build their confidence in numeracy and problem-solving, and make a genuine difference in their educational journey.
The Role
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide tailored academic and pastoral support. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and engagement within the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group Maths interventions
- Supporting students with SEN, SEMH, and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils build confidence in numeracy and analytical thinking
- Assisting teachers with differentiated classroom support and interventions
- Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with school staff
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for graduates who are:
- Passionate about education and supporting young people
- Holders of a Maths degree or a closely related subject
- Patient, proactive, and compassionate in their approach
- Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
- Interested in gaining valuable school-based experience
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
