Are you a Maths graduate looking to gain meaningful classroom experience before progressing into Teaching, Educational Psychology, or further study in Education?

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Maths graduates to support students across schools in the Newcastle area. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire young people, build their confidence in numeracy and problem-solving, and make a genuine difference in their educational journey.

The Role

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide tailored academic and pastoral support. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and engagement within the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group Maths interventions
  • Supporting students with SEN, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Helping pupils build confidence in numeracy and analytical thinking
  • Assisting teachers with differentiated classroom support and interventions
  • Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with school staff
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for graduates who are:

  • Passionate about education and supporting young people
  • Holders of a Maths degree or a closely related subject
  • Patient, proactive, and compassionate in their approach
  • Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Interested in gaining valuable school-based experience

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
