Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Full-time, temporary to permanent opportunities

Are you an analytical mind ready to inspire the next generation of problem solvers and innovators?

Teaching Personnel is currently partnering with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Hemel Hempstead area to recruit an enthusiastic and versatile Full-Time STEM Teacher capable of delivering both Mathematics and Science.

This unique dual-discipline role is ideal for an educator who loves bridging the gap between numbers and the physical world—using math to decode patterns and science to explore how things work. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners, as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for a supportive school environment to launch their careers.

The Role & Responsibilities

  • Dual-Discipline Teaching: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in both Mathematics and General Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

  • Practical & Theoretical Learning: Combine rigorous mathematical theory with interactive, safe science practicals to bring both subjects to life.

  • Tailored Progress: Differentiate lessons to support students across all ability levels, building confidence in core numeracy and scientific inquiry.

  • Collaborative Impact: Work closely with both the Math and Science departments, sharing resources, tracking student data, and participating in parents' evenings.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: QTS, QTLS, or a recognized formal teaching qualification. A degree in a STEM subject (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering) is highly desirable.

  • Versatility: The ability to teach core algebraic, geometric, and numerical concepts alongside fundamental physics, chemistry, and biology topics.

  • Classroom Management: Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to foster a safe, curious, and focused learning environment.

  • Compliance: A valid enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).

Why Choose Teaching Personnel?

As the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, working with Teaching Personnel offers distinct advantages:

  • Competitive Pay: Weekly pay via PAYE — simple, transparent, and absolutely no umbrella company fees.

  • Dedicated Consultant: A local specialist consultant based in the Hertfordshire area who understands the Hemel market and will support you every step of the way.

  • CPD Academy: Access to free and heavily discounted professional development courses (e.g., Safeguarding, Team Teach, Advanced Behavior Management) to expand your skill set.

  • Career Growth: Strong ties to local schools in Hemel Hempstead, Watford, and St Albans, frequently leading to permanent contract offers.
