Job description

LSA - Psychology/Criminology Graduate

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting graduates who have recently completed degrees in Psychology, Criminology, or related subjects.

Location: Multiple Bristol Schools Available

Frequency: Full Time (Monday - Friday, Term Time)

Start: ASAP


The Role:

You will be supporting primary-aged pupils in a school setting on a 1:1 or small-group basis, reinforcing lessons delivered by teachers. Many of these pupils will have SEN (Special Educational Needs) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and you will be required to think creatively when adapting activities and learning materials to help pupils engage and achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and participation in lessons
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Supporting the social and academic development of children
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Education, or a related field
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people
  • Resilient, empathetic, and adaptable
  • Interested in a future career within education, mental health, social work, youth work, or educational psychology
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
