Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time | Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Preston for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The school supports pupils aged 4–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and complex needs. The school provides a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The role will involve:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Encouraging pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils to reach their individual goals.
- Supporting pupils with communication, independence, and personal care where required.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team.
To be considered, you will need:
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
