Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary Setting

Andover | £14.25 per hour | Full-time | Term time only

Are you a patient, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity?

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist primary setting in Andover, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role would suit candidates with experience in SEMH, SEN or mainstream education who are looking to make a real difference in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff to support primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them feel safe, regulate their emotions and engage positively with learning.

You will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support

  • Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Help deliver engaging, tailored learning activities

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils

  • Encourage confidence, independence and social development

  • Maintain a calm, structured and inclusive environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm, patient and emotionally resilient

  • Confident supporting children with challenging behaviour

  • Consistent, adaptable and professional

  • Passionate about helping children with additional needs

  • Available to work full-time, term time only

An enhanced DBS check will be required.
