Job Opportunity in Carmarthen: Learning Support Assistants – Ideal for Sports Coaching Students
Location: Carmarthen
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you a sports coaching student or recent graduate looking to bring your energy, planning skills, and love for physical activity into the classroom? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join primary schools in Carmarthen as Learning Support Assistants from September 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your coaching experience with classroom support, helping children thrive both physically and academically.


About the Role:

You will:

  • Support classroom learning across a range of subjects
  • Plan and deliver engaging physical activities and movement-based sessions
  • Encourage active learning and support children’s wellbeing through sport and play
  • Assist children 1:1 or in small groups with their academic work
  • Become a positive role model in both classroom and playground settings

  • Sports coaching or PE students
  • Individuals with experience leading games, after-school clubs, or activity sessions
  • Anyone passionate about supporting children’s development – physically and academically
  • Those looking to gain experience in education or progress towards a teaching career

✅ What You’ll Need:

  • Experience or training in sports coaching or PE (formal or informal)

  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • An Enhanced DBS check (can be arranged)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
