Teaching Personnel are currently seeking new Learning Support Assistants and Behaviour Support Assistants in Haywards Heath and the surrounding area to work in a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health provision catering to boys with complex needs across the Primary/Secondary SEN School. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:

• Behavioural difficulties

• Anti-social and disengaged behaviour

• ADHD The Role:

Learning Support Assistants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or small group basis with pupils.

The role will operate between 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday.

Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as we have other roles that could be made available.

The Candidate:

Ideal candidates for being a learning support assistant may need to be able to drive.

Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:

• Psychology

• Youth/Community work experience

• Care worker

• Independent living assistant

• Previous learning support Experience

• Challenging behaviour within family

• Mentoring

• SEN Experience

SEN learning support assistants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or on a small group basis with pupils, so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.

You will need to have a Child Only Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.

Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
