Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you a Behaviour Support Assistant looking for a role in a south Manchester school?

We are looking for an applicant who can provide support to Year 9 male students who struggle to engage with school learning and lessons. While this role is to solely provide support Year 9 students, there is a possibility for a permanent role after the introduction from Teaching Personnel.

The school you will join is ambitious for students to succeed, there are provisions in place to ensure vulnerable and challenging students receive a robust curriculum. The school behaviour management system is well used in lessons, so learning is mostly uninterrupted, however the behaviour of some students outside of lessons needs improvement. This is where you can really make the difference.

When you join you will be asked to support students on a 1:1 basis, helping to improve the learning of students and their attitude towards school. This role is invaluable as it provides students with a chance to succeed in school and bring their learning levels up to that of the national average.

Your commute to this school will not be an issue as the school is 3 minutes from the closest train station and 10 minutes from junction 24 M60 linking to Manchester, Tameside and Stockport.

Successful candidates need to possess the ability to lead by example, be enthusiastic and be a positive role model they crave and will look up to.

Students you work with will have:

The role will involve:

• 1:1 support
• Small group work
• Supporting teachers and other support assistants

Applicants would benefit from experience in:

• Psychology degree
• SEN Experience

• Sports coaching

The role requires an immediate start running until the end of this academic year and you will earn between £350-£400 a week depending on where your experience positions you in the pay scale.
