Full-Time Learning Support Assistant Opportunity
A specialist educational provision in Weymouth is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join its supportive team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding opportunity is available to start as soon as possible and would suit somebody passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional educational and emotional needs throughout the school day.
Working closely alongside teachers and wider support staff, you will help create a structured, positive, and inclusive environment where learners feel encouraged to engage, progress, and succeed.
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Assisting with classroom learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Helping pupils remain focused and engaged during lessons
- Supporting students during transitions and social interactions
- Promoting a safe and nurturing learning environment
The provision supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Staff are committed to helping every pupil achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The successful applicant will be patient, adaptable, and able to build strong professional relationships with pupils and colleagues. Previous experience within education, care, support work, youth mentoring, residential services, coaching, or behavioural support would be highly beneficial, although transferable skills and a positive attitude are equally valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
