Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a capable primary pupil who requires support with memory and processing difficulties. This role is based in a welcoming primary school in Washington and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term‑time only.
The position is due to start once EHCP funding is approved, and as this is an agency role, the school may end the placement at any time depending on need. However, for the right candidate, this is expected to be a long‑term role with the potential to become permanent.
You will support the pupil throughout the school day, providing structure, repetition and tailored strategies to help them remain confident, organised and engaged in learning.
About You
- Proven experience supporting SEND pupils on a 1:1 basis
- Ideally holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Patient, calm, friendly and professional
- Able to apply a firm but fair approach to routines and expectations
- Confident using visual prompts and memory‑supporting strategies
- Reliable, proactive and positive
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering consistent 1:1 support throughout lessons
- Reinforcing learning using visuals, routines and repetition
- Supporting focus, organisation and independence
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO
- Contributing to intervention notes and progress tracking

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
