Learning Support Assistant – Poole
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team from January 2026.
The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional support to access learning, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This role will involve providing both 1:1 and small-group support, helping students to build confidence, develop key skills, and reach their full potential.
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting young people within an educational setting (secondary experience desirable)
-
Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach to learning support
-
Have a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
-
Work effectively as part of a team alongside teachers and SEN staff
-
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
