Pay rate from £14.30 per hour

We are working with a large, welcoming school in Newport that consistently receives extremely positive feedback from educators regarding its supportive environment, strong leadership, and inclusive ethos. Staff feel valued, and there is a genuine team spirit throughout the school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a rewarding career in education, supporting pupils in both their learning and personal development. You will play a key role in helping students access education, build confidence, and succeed — even during more challenging moments.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Working closely with the class teacher to support learning and manage classroom behaviour
  • Assisting pupils with additional needs, including learning difficulties and behavioural support
  • Helping create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
  • Supporting learning both in the classroom and in alternative settings where required

We Are Looking for Someone Who Is:

  • Able to contribute to, and work effectively as part of a team
  • Passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential
  • Equipped with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible and positive attitude
  • We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and strongly encourage those with experience in care, support work, or youth services, as these roles provide highly valuable transferable skills that translate exceptionally well into an educational setting.

Why This Role?

  • Join a supportive and highly regarded school with an excellent reputation among staff
  • Be part of a team that truly values inclusion and pupil wellbeing
  • A chance to build a long-term career in education
  • Make a real difference in the lives of young people, particularly those who need it most

Working with Teaching Personnel means you’ll benefit from:

  • Free professional development and continuous career support
  • A dedicated recruitment consultant to guide you throughout your placement
  • A paid referral scheme once your referral completes five days of work
  • Competitive weekly pay aligned with market-leading daily rates
  • Opportunities to explore different school settings before making long-term commitments

This role would suit someone either looking to start their career as a Learning Support Assistant or an experienced LSA seeking a new challenge within a welcoming and well-run school.

If you’re passionate about supporting pupils, building relationships, and making a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
