Make a Real Difference in Young People’s Lives
Are you passionate about helping young people grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and work towards their future goals?
About the Role
We’re looking for a Youth Support Worker to join a welcoming secondary school, supporting students aged 11–18. You’ll play a vital role in helping students feel safe, understood, and ready to engage in learning — working closely with teaching and pastoral teams to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
You’ll be working alongside the school’s Specialist Resource Base (SRB), supporting students with additional learning needs through a mix of mainstream access and specialist provision. Support is personalised and rooted in person-centred practice, focusing on identifying barriers and helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.
The SRB supports learners with a wide range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Severe learning difficulties
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Physical or medical needs
You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team. This is a genuinely nurturing and supportive school community — a fantastic place to make a lasting impact.
Is This You?
We’re keen to hear from applicants who:
- Have experience in youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or similar roles
- Are confident supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or behaviour needs
- Can remain calm, patient, and approachable in challenging situations
- Understand the emotional and social needs of young people
- Genuinely care about helping students succeed — academically and personally
✅ Requirements
Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Two professional references covering the last 24 months
- You must be 18 years or older
