Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Nailsea
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming school in Nailsea. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys while working within a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence and achieve their individual goals.

You may work on a one-to-one basis, support small groups, or assist within the classroom to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in accessing learning activities within the classroom.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group interventions where required.
  • Help children develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH needs or additional learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning materials and activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Confident supporting children with varying learning needs.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, proactive and committed to making a difference.

  • Teaching Assistant (TA)
  • SEND Support Worker
  • Youth Worker
  • Nursery Practitioner
  • Care Worker
  • Sports Coach
  • Education Support Worker

Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
