Job description

A specialist provision in Manchester is looking for Learning Support Assistants to work with students in class and aid learning. Students within the school have significant additional needs that a team of experienced staff support each day to ensure that every student at the school is progressing at a good rate. Each student will have an individualised plan of learning based on their needs and you will work with other members of staff to ensure that this is followed throughout the school day.

As a learning support assistant, you will work within a classroom with specific students who need help with pieces of work. You will work one-to-one and sometimes in small groups to explain work, outcomes and provide feedback to students to motivate them to work to the best of their ability.

Experience needed for the role:

  • Previous experience supporting and motivating students within a school environment
  • Maths and English GCSE
  • Knowledge and experience of different complex additional needs
  • Effective communication within a large team of experienced staff

This role is a full-time position, and due to this you need to be available Monday to Friday and during the hours that the school requires. You should be able to be consistent within the role and meet the needs of the students and the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
