Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School Support Role

£14.25 Per Hour | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Carmarthenshire, helping mainstream pupils who require additional support to achieve their full potential.

This successful and inclusive school serves a large local community and prides itself on creating a positive environment where all learners can thrive. The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), moderate learning difficulties and pupils who may need extra encouragement to engage in lessons.

Working closely with teaching staff, you'll play a key role in helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally whilst building their confidence and independence.

The Role

✅ Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
✅ Helping learners access the curriculum and stay on task
✅ Providing positive behaviour and emotional support
✅ Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams
✅ Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and engagement
✅ Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom

Welsh-speaking candidates are welcomed, though this is not essential

✅ Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable
• A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to provide two professional references
• Right to work in the UK
