Hours: Full-time

Pay: £14.20 per hour

We are seeking a resilient, compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Farnborough, supporting pupils aged 9–16 with social, emotional and mental health needs and associated challenging behaviour.

This role is well suited to individuals from a range of backgrounds, including education, youth work, care, coaching, or support roles, who are confident building positive relationships and supporting young people to re-engage with learning.

About the Role
You will support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them manage behaviour, regulate emotions and access education in a structured, supportive environment. A calm, consistent and proactive approach is key.

The Role Includes:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour

  • Building strong, trusting relationships

  • Assisting with personalised learning activities

  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

About You:

  • Patient, resilient and adaptable

  • Confident managing or de-escalating challenging behaviour

  • Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs

  • Experience in education, care, youth work or similar is beneficial but not essential

  • Willing to learn and develop within an SEMH setting
