We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Bury, supporting students aged 11-16 with autism and social, language and communication needs. What You'll Do

✅ Provide tailored support to students throughout lessons and the wider school day

✅ Assist students in developing their communication, social interaction and independence skills

✅ Support emotional regulation and encourage positive engagement with learning

✅ Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and specialist staff to deliver individualised learning support

✅ Help implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

✅ Promote positive behaviour through consistent routines, structure and therapeutic approaches

✅ Foster students' confidence, self-esteem and resilience both academically and personally

✅ Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive

What We're Looking For

✔ Previous experience working within a school setting is essential

✔ Experience supporting students with SEND, autism, speech and language difficulties, or communication needs is highly desirable

✔ A patient, resilient and nurturing approach to supporting young people

✔ Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues

✔ The ability to remain calm, adaptable and proactive in a dynamic school environment

✔ A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve success
