We’re Hiring: Learning Support Assistants (LSA) in Bristol

Start Date: ASAP
Full-Time / Part-Time | Flexible Supply with Long-Term & Permanent Opportunities
Secondary Schools | Key Stage 3 & 4

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential?

We’re looking for caring, reliable, and adaptable Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in Bristol to work across secondary school settings. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible supply work, with the opportunity to progress into long-term or permanent roles.


✅ The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs

  • Support learners with SEND, SEMH, EAL, and behavioural needs

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Promote student independence, confidence, and engagement

  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation where required

  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

  • Adapt to a variety of school settings through flexible supply placements


✅ Who This Role Suits:

  • Experienced Learning Support Assistants or Teaching Assistants

  • Graduates or individuals considering a career in education or SEN

  • Tutors, Sports Coach, Youth Mentor, Music Tutor, Psychology Graduate

  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive individuals


✅ Experience & Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based preferred)

  • Experience supporting SEND is highly desirable

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A calm, resilient, and supportive approach to learning and behaviour

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
