Learning Support Assistant

Location: Bedford, Bedfordshire 

Job Type: Temporary Contract, starting ASAP - permanent contract offer for the right professional 

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £80-100 per day, 6.5 hour day

Hours: 8:15am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday 

Length: Flexible and Negotiable 

A modern, forward-thinking and respectable Secondary school in Bedford is looking to grow their support staff team with a Learning Support Assistant.

This school is located in Bedford, easily commutable from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. A Learning Support Assistant here could expect to support a range of students, as they host 990 pupils across the school. This is an outstanding and rare opportunity for an excellent practitioner to play a key role in the development and growth of this exceptional all-through school.   

We are looking for innovative, passionate and committed individuals to join our fantastic dedicated team.  Flexibility and the desire to take part in all aspects of the school will be required. This is a superb opportunity to help shape the future of the school and the confident, independent and forward-thinking pupils who we inspire each day.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the ability to forge and maintain positive working relationships with children and their families.

  • Be willing to work across all year groups

Ideal applicant

  • Previous experience in a Pastoral related role
  • Ideally previously worked in a Primary or Secondary school before for at least 1 year
  • An individual with good knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Be passionate about helping students to succeed in education
  • Have a calming presence and be able to engage well with the pupils (Year 7 to Year 11)
  • You will be dedicated to ensure that all children achieve their very best
  • Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
