SEN Teaching Assistant - Harrow

Location: Harrow

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant for EYFS

Pay: £80 – 95 per day (paid on a weekly basis)

This school is a Catholic Primary school who aim to help children develop in their journey of faith in a positive learning environment. They have high standards for academic achievement with progress and attainment consistency. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and personable Teaching Assistant who is keen to support pupils to achieve their full potential in their education. They offer a school that takes pride in developing the whole child and a stable and collaborative community who follow a strong working ethos.

What would the job role involve?

  • Working one to one with children with SEN - possibly a child with Autism, ADHA etc.
  • Supporting the class teacher with lessons
  • Lead intervention sessions
  • Have a patient and calm approach
  • Create engaging materials that suit different learning styles
  • Explaining tasks to children and keeping them focused
  • Communicating with higher members of staff and parents/carers about children’s progress
  • Ensuring safety of each child is followed
  • Ensure children’s mental, physical and psychological wellbeing is looked after

Essential requirements:

Enhanced DBS Check

Safeguarding Training

Overseas criminal clearance

Qualifications/Experience (desirable):

CACHE level 2 or 3 award

Level 2 or 3 in Childcare

SEN courses e.g., Autism

Personal SEN experience / past experience working with SEN

Location of the school

The school is located a 10-minute drive from Harrow-on-the-Hill station (near central Harrow) or a 30-minute journey on public transport. The closest train stations are North Harrow and Rayners Lane.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
