Pay: £92.63 per day
The Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils throughout the school day.
You will work with children both within the classroom and in small-group or individual activities, helping them develop their academic, social, emotional, and personal skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce and extend learning.
- Support children across the KS1 curriculum, including English and Maths.
- Help pupils develop their reading, writing, phonics, and numeracy skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support effective classroom routines.
- Promote children's confidence, independence, and social development.
- Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
- Observe and monitor pupil progress, sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils and school staff.
- Assist with classroom organisation and day-to-day learning activities.
- Contribute to a positive, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in working with children, ideally within a primary school environment.
- Familiar with the needs and development of children in KS1.
- Patient, nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed to helping children succeed.
- Confident supporting pupils across the primary curriculum.
- Comfortable working with individuals and small groups.
- Calm, adaptable, and able to respond positively to different needs and situations.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Passionate about working with young children and supporting their development.
- Reliable, organised, and enthusiastic.
- Available to commit to a full-time, long-term position.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration as a Teaching Assistant, or a willingness to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar setting is desirable.
