Job description
Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a Year 2 classroom? We are currently recruiting passionate and committed TAs to support local primary schools across Newcastle.
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, helping children progress confidently through their final year of Key Stage 1 in a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Year 2 class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.

Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups to help raise attainment and confidence.

Assist with classroom preparation, organisation of resources, and effective behaviour management.

Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to ensure pupil progress, welfare, and wellbeing.
Requirements
-
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential.

Experience working with KS1 pupils, ideally within Year 2.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Full-time availability, Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm).

Access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel between schools if required.

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
