Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to play a key role in supporting pupils during a crucial stage of their learning journey.

The Role

Working closely with the Year 1 class teacher, you will provide general classroom support while delivering targeted interventions to help pupils develop their literacy skills.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing general classroom support within a Year 1 setting.
Delivering phonics interventions to small groups and individual pupils.
Supporting pupils during guided reading sessions.
Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
Encouraging pupil engagement and confidence in learning.
Supporting the teacher in maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working within a primary school setting.
Has a good understanding of phonics and early reading development.
Is confident delivering small-group and one-to-one interventions.
Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Is proactive, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting children's learning.
Demonstrates strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Is committed to maintaining high classroom standards and supporting pupil progress.
