Learning Support Assistant

A vibrant and supportive primary school based in the Nelson area (BB9) are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support their KS1 students in a group setting and on a 1:1 basis.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide extra support by helping students with challenging behaviour and helping students to keep engaged within sessions. You will act as a positive learning role model for pupils and so the ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a Primary School based in Neslon (BB9) across KS1 and 2.

Some of the requirements in this position are as follows:

• Assisting with identifying pupils in need of support
• Conducting one-to-one mentoring sessions with identified pupils
• Develop strategies for pupils to better manage their behaviour
• Drawing up action plans for learners
• Liaising with SENCos
• Keeping track of pupil progress and monitoring behaviour
• Organising lunchtime activities for pupils who display challenging behaviour during breaks
• Supporting liaisons with families

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
