Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Kettering starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who is committed to making a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives.

Responsibilities:

• Support individual pupils or small groups of children with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

• Provide emotional and behavioural support to ensure all pupils feel safe and supported.

• Help create an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

• Use strategies to support pupils’ learning and social development, promoting high levels of engagement.

• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment records and reports.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is essential.

• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate, CACHE) are desirable but not essential with sufficient experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
