Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary School, Kettering
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Kettering starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who is committed to making a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives.
Responsibilities:

Support individual pupils or small groups of children with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
-
Provide emotional and behavioural support to ensure all pupils feel safe and supported.
-
Help create an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
-
Use strategies to support pupils’ learning and social development, promoting high levels of engagement.
-
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment records and reports.
-
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals as needed.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is essential.

A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach.
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate, CACHE) are desirable but not essential with sufficient experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
