Job description

Nurture Teacher Wanted – SEN Secondary School (Redhill) | Start ASAP

Are you a compassionate, creative teacher who believes every young person deserves the chance to thrive? We’re looking for a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a supportive SEN secondary school in Redhill, working with students who follow a primary-style curriculum model within a secondary setting.

This is a role where relationships matter just as much as results—and where small wins are genuinely celebrated.

The Role

You’ll be teaching a small group of secondary-aged students with special educational needs, delivering a nurture-based, primary-model curriculum. Your timetable will include:

  • English & Maths (core focus)

  • Humanities

  • Food Technology (practical, life-skills-based learning)

  • Supporting and facilitating PE sessions (no need to lead or plan these)

  • Collaborating with specialist Science teachers who deliver Science separately

This is a highly rewarding role where flexibility, patience, and creativity are key.

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week

  • Start time: 8:15am

  • Finish times:

    • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 4:45pm

    • Tuesday: 5:00pm

    • Friday: 4:00pm

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Proven experience working with SEN students, ideally in a nurture or alternative provision setting

  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet a wide range of needs and abilities

  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong relationship-building skills—this role is as much about connection as it is about teaching

Why Join?

  • Work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team

  • Teach small classes where you can make a real impact

  • Be part of a school that prioritises wellbeing, progress, and personal development

  • Opportunities for professional growth within SEN education
