Job description

Are you a confident and adaptable Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children make real progress?

A primary school in the CF3 area is looking for an enthusiastic Intervention Teaching Assistant to work with pupils across Year 2 to Year 6. This is a varied role where you will deliver targeted interventions, support pupils in small groups, and help children develop both academically and emotionally.

The successful candidate will work with children who require additional academic support, helping to develop their confidence and understanding across the curriculum. As pupils will vary in both age and ability, we are looking for someone who is able to think on their feet, adapt their approach, and build positive relationships with a wide range of learners.

This position would be particularly well suited to graduates from subjects such as English, Psychology, Mathematics, Education, Childhood Studies, Sociology, or similar disciplines who are looking to apply their knowledge within an educational setting. Equally, experienced Teaching Assistants seeking a more specialist intervention role are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions across Years 2-6.
  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum objectives.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Deliver teacher-planned activities and support pupils to achieve their learning goals.
  • Design and lead imaginative, engaging sessions that help bring learning to life.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Build strong relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and independence.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
  • Confident supporting children across different age groups.
  • Creative in their approach to learning and intervention delivery.
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Keen to make a measurable impact on pupil outcomes.

The school offers: ✅ A supportive and welcoming staff team
✅ Excellent resources and intervention facilities
✅ Opportunities to develop your educational experience and skillset
✅ Convenient transport links and on-site parking
✅ The chance to play a significant role in improving pupil progress across the school

If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, use your initiative, and make a real difference to children's learning, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
