Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant
Frequency: Part‑Time or Full Time
Location: BS4 – Knowle, Brislington, St. Annes, Totterdown
Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed Inclusion Support Assistant to join their team.
In this role, you will support pupils who may experience a variety of barriers to learning including SEN needs, attendance issues, social or emotional difficulties, communication challenges, or low confidence. Your aim will be to help each child feel included, supported, and able to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils who need additional help accessing learning.
• Assist children with SEN, SEMH, EAL, and other additional needs within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
• Support children to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive social interactions.
• Adapt resources and tasks to ensure all pupils can participate fully and confidently.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral teams.
• Promote inclusion, attendance, engagement, and a positive sense of belonging for all pupils.
• Contribute to a safe, calm, and nurturing school environment.
Desirable Experience & Skills:
• Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, behavioural needs, or communication differences.
• Knowledge of inclusive practices, behaviour strategies, or EAL support.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
• Understanding of sensory needs, de‑escalation, or nurture‑based strategies (advantageous).
• Experience in school, youth work, care, or similar support roles is highly beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
