About the Opportunity

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with secondary schools in the Yarm area to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who can bring Humanities subjects to life and support young people in developing a strong understanding of people, places, cultures, and societies.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the timetable typically covering a range of subjects, including:

  • History
  • Geography
  • Religious Education (RE/RS)
  • Citizenship (where applicable)
  • Sociology or PSHE (depending on school needs)

The Role

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons across KS3–KS4
  • Teach confidently across multiple Humanities disciplines
  • Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assess, track, and support pupil progress using effective differentiation
  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities department to support curriculum planning
  • Promote high standards, engagement, and inclusivity within the classroom

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Previous experience teaching Humanities in a secondary school setting
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • Secure subject knowledge across the Humanities curriculum
  • A flexible, professional, and proactive approach to teaching
