About the Opportunity
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with secondary schools in the Yarm area to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who can bring Humanities subjects to life and support young people in developing a strong understanding of people, places, cultures, and societies.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the timetable typically covering a range of subjects, including:
- History
- Geography
- Religious Education (RE/RS)
- Citizenship (where applicable)
- Sociology or PSHE (depending on school needs)
The Role
- Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons across KS3–KS4
- Teach confidently across multiple Humanities disciplines
- Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
- Assess, track, and support pupil progress using effective differentiation
- Work collaboratively with the Humanities department to support curriculum planning
- Promote high standards, engagement, and inclusivity within the classroom
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Previous experience teaching Humanities in a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
- Secure subject knowledge across the Humanities curriculum
- A flexible, professional, and proactive approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
