Humanities Teacher (History & Geography)
Location: East Lancashire – Alternative Provision
Days: Wednesday & Thursday (2 days per week)
Pay: Dependent on skills and experience
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team in an Alternative Provision setting based in East Lancashire. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive History and Geography lessons up to GCSE level, supporting students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality History and Geography lessons tailored to the needs of individual learners.

Support students with diverse educational and behavioural needs in a nurturing and structured environment.

Use creative and flexible approaches to engage learners and promote positive outcomes.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to wider school support plans.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Person Specification:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).

Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

Experience teaching History and/or Geography up to GCSE level.

A flexible, patient, and resilient approach with a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
