Job description

We are currently seeking a Humanities Supply Teacher to join a secondary school in Heywood from May through to July 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a supportive school environment and make an immediate impact during the summer term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (History, Geography, and/or RE)

  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work where required

  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment

  • Follow school policies on behaviour management and safeguarding

  • Provide continuity of learning during staff absence

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff

  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
