Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for your next opportunity?

A lovely primary school in Weymouth is looking for a dedicated and confident HLTA to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential.

The position is available to start as soon as possible and is offered on a fixed-term contract for one year.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will play an important role within the classroom, working alongside teachers and support staff to provide high-quality learning experiences for pupils.

You will have the opportunity to work with children both individually and in small groups, as well as supporting whole-class learning and delivering planned activities.

The successful candidate will be confident taking responsibility for groups of pupils and, where appropriate, delivering lessons or learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

As an HLTA, you will:

• Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
• Lead learning activities and lessons when required
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• Support children to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
• Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver effective learning activities
• Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help
• Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Work effectively with teaching assistants and other members of the school team
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Take responsibility for classroom activities and groups when required

About You

• Comfortable taking initiative and working with a degree of independence

An existing HLTA qualification or significant relevant experience within a school setting would be advantageous.
