Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at an SEMH education centre starting in September. This role is perfect for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact on students with SEMH needs. As an HLTA, you will support and empower students, collaborating with teachers to deliver personalised educational programs and leading classes when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support & Empower: Collaborate with dedicated teachers to deliver personalised educational programs tailored for students facing challenges like anxiety, depression, and other SEMH issues.
  • Creative Teaching: Design and implement dynamic, activity-based lessons that captivate and re-engage students who have lost their passion for learning.
  • Individual Attention: Provide focused one-on-one and small group support to help students excel academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Lead & Inspire: Step in to lead classes in the teacher’s absence, ensuring continuity and a stable learning environment for our students.
  • Innovative Environment: Utilise state-of-the-art resources to enhance and personalise the learning experience for each student.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Level 3 HLTA qualification or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading classes and managing classroom dynamics.
  • Compassionate and patient approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to the well-being and academic progress of SEMH students, particularly those who have disengaged from traditional education.
