Location: Weymouth
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate History Teacher looking for your next opportunity from September? Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in Weymouth that is seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join their Humanities department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about History and enjoys inspiring students to develop their knowledge, curiosity and critical thinking skills.

The Role

The successful History Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with a range of abilities.

  • Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour, achievement and engagement.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting enrichment activities where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a History Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History.

  • Demonstrates effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Can engage, motivate and challenge students of different abilities.

  • Is reliable, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality lessons.

  • Has a positive and professional approach to working with students and colleagues.
