Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Schools (Reading Area)
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: £100–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time | Temporary & Temp-to-Perm opportunities

At Teaching Personnel, we work closely with a range of friendly and inclusive primary schools across the Reading area, helping them find outstanding support staff who can make a real difference. We are currently recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join our team and support primary-aged pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

The Role
As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning in and out of the classroom, deliver intervention programmes, and occasionally cover whole-class teaching where required.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Leading small group and 1:1 interventions in literacy and numeracy
- Covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting classroom behaviour and routines
- Assisting with planning and assessment where appropriate
- Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- HLTA status or significant classroom support experience
- Experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting
- Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
- A flexible, proactive, and child-centred approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
