Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Secondary School – Stockport
Location: Stockport
Salary: £100 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to step up into a leadership role? We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a high-achieving secondary school in Stockport. This is a rewarding opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, including lesson delivery and targeted student interventions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead whole-class lessons in the absence of a teacher, following pre-planned materials.
- Provide targeted intervention sessions for small groups or individual students who need extra support.
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging learning activities in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Support student progress, engagement, and wellbeing across different subject areas.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to identify students requiring additional support.
- Contribute to student assessment by tracking progress and providing feedback.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience delivering lessons or leading interventions in a secondary school setting.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- A proactive, adaptable, and supportive approach to working with students of all abilities.
- A passion for education and helping young people succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
