Cover Supervisor – Basingstoke – Immediate Start

Are you a recent graduate, an aspiring teacher, or someone looking to gain valuable school experience before building a career in education?
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Basingstoke, with roles available for an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop classroom experience, explore a teaching career, or secure flexible term‑time work that makes a real impact.


The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre‑prepared lessons to classes across Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Managing behaviour in line with school expectations to maintain a purposeful learning environment
  • Supporting students across a variety of subjects
  • Creating a calm, positive atmosphere that supports progress and engagement
  • Providing additional support to students with special educational needs or additional learning needs
  • Acting as a role model and motivating students throughout the school day

This role is ideal preparation for teacher training or future long‑term roles within education.


The Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from individuals who have:

  • Experience working with young people of secondary school age
  • Confidence managing groups and adapting to different subjects
  • The ability to support learners with SEN / additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships
  • Enthusiasm, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • An interest in developing a long‑term career in teaching or education support
