Job description

Do you have experience teaching but haven’t obtained your teaching qualification?

Are you looking to develop your teaching career within a secondary school environment?

Can you build a natural rapport with students and help ensure they reach their full potential within their school life?

If so, a cover supervisor role could suit you perfectly.

A cover supervisor is a member of staff in secondary schools who is responsible for supervising students when their regular teacher is absent. The role of a cover supervisor is to ensure that the students are engaged in meaningful learning activities and that they behave appropriately in the absence of their regular teacher.

The main responsibilities of a cover supervisor include:

- Delivering pre-prepared lessons to students in the absence of their regular teacher

- Managing the behaviour of students and ensuring that they adhere to school policies and procedures

- Providing support to students who require additional assistance with their learning

- Reporting any issues or concerns to senior members of staff

- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and progress.

Within the role it will allow for you to work on a flexible basis to suit your own lifestyle preference, whether you’re wanting to work 2/3 days per week, or the full 5.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
