Graduate Teaching Assistant – Salaried Teacher Training Opportunity

Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with an outstanding secondary school in Northamptonshire that is looking to recruit ambitious graduates to join its team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience while training to become a qualified teacher through the school's established in-house SCITT programme.
The Opportunity
Successful candidates will begin their journey as a Teaching Assistant, working alongside experienced teachers to support students across the curriculum. During this time, you'll develop the practical skills, confidence and classroom experience needed to progress onto the school's highly regarded School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme.
Unlike traditional university-led routes, this pathway offers 2–3 years of hands-on classroom experience, allowing you to learn from experienced professionals while working within a supportive school environment. On successful completion, you will achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ready to begin your teaching career.
What You'll Be Doing

Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Working with individual students and small groups to raise attainment.

Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.

Building positive relationships with students and helping them achieve their potential.

Developing your teaching practice with ongoing mentoring and professional development.

Due to graduate in 2026 or have already completed a degree.

Able to commit to a full-time role from September 2026.
