Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for a primary school in Newport (NP19). You will support pupils with additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) challenges—helping them achieve their potential and feel confident in school.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Newport (NP19)
Start: January 2026
Pay: £89.38 per day (DOE)
Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–3:30pm
Contract: Full-time or flexible part-time
What You’ll Do

Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs

Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment

Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

Contribute to EHCPs and IEPs
Who We’re Looking For

Graduates or current students in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Childhood Studies or similar

Any experience with children or young people (paid, voluntary or personal)

Passionate about SEN and supporting children’s development

Calm, empathetic and confident communicators

Team players with a genuine interest in helping children succeed
