Graduate Sports Coach

Start Date: ASAP/ Summer Term 

Location: Walsall (surrounding areas) 

Pay Rate: £90-£150 (dependent experience) 


 

About the role: 

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Sports Coach to work within a mainstream secondary school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education and develop a pathway into teaching or working with young people.

The role will involve supporting students across a range of subjects, not just PE, and delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff. You will be responsible for managing the classroom, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in schools and take the first step towards a career in education.


Role Requirements:

Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff

Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive, productive learning environment

Support students in staying engaged and on task with the work provided

Provide one-to-one and small group support where required

Assist with maintaining school policies, including behaviour and safeguarding standards

Build positive relationships with students and staff

Adapt to different subjects and classroom settings as needed

Support students with varying abilities to help them reach their full potential

 

Role Responsibilites:

A degree (ideally within Sports, Coaching, or a related field)

A strong interest in working within education or pursuing a teaching career

Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to engage and motivate young people

Previous experience working with young people (e.g. coaching, mentoring, tutoring) is desirable

A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
