Graduate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Manchester | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available | September Start | Teaching Personnel
Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education? Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate graduates to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across schools in Manchester. You will work closely with students who may have needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Difficulties, Down Syndrome, Physical Disabilities, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), or Complex Learning Needs, helping them to access education and reach their full potential.
This role is particularly suited to graduates from Psychology, Social Sciences, Education, Health & Social Care, or related fields who are considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, social work, or child and adolescent support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEN throughout the school day.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Support communication, social interaction, and the development of independence.
- Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver tailored support.
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
- A degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Education, Health & Social Care, or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
