Graduate Cover Supervisor

  1. Cover Supervisor
  2. Oldham
Date posted : 18/08/26
  1. Flexible Working
£90 - 110 per day

Job description

Are you a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching? Or perhaps you're an experienced Cover Supervisor seeking flexible or full-time work within a welcoming secondary school environment?

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and confident Graduate Cover Supervisors to work in a number of well-established secondary schools across Oldham. Opportunities are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, making this an excellent role for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, and education professionals looking to build experience within schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your classroom management skills, gain hands-on experience in secondary education, and make a genuine difference to the learning and development of young people. Many of our Cover Supervisors go on to secure teacher training placements, long-term school positions, or careers within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment. You will be responsible for managing behaviour, supporting pupils as required, and ensuring lessons run smoothly across a range of subjects. No planning or marking is required, allowing you to focus on delivering a positive classroom experience and building your confidence within a school setting.

We are looking for graduates from any degree discipline who possess excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, and the confidence to lead a classroom. Previous experience working with young people, whether through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, youth work, or education settings, would be highly advantageous but is not essential. Schools are keen to meet motivated individuals who can act as positive role models and contribute to the wider school community.

In return, you will benefit from flexible working opportunities, ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant, access to professional development and training, and the opportunity to gain invaluable experience within a variety of secondary school settings across Oldham. Whether you are seeking a long-term career within education or simply looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same, this position offers excellent career development opportunities.

If you are an ambitious graduate looking to start your journey in education, or an experienced Cover Supervisor ready for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you. Apply today with an up-to-date CV
