Graduate Cover Supervisor
Job description
Graduate Cover supervisor needed in Gosport!
Are you a recent graduate ready to kick-start your career while making a real difference in young people’s lives?
Secondary schools in and around Gosport are on the lookout for enthusiastic and reliable Graduate Cover Supervisors to support their teaching teams. This is a brilliant opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop key professional skills, and explore whether a future in education is right for you.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged with their work. You won’t be expected to teach new content—instead, you’ll deliver pre-prepared resources, manage classroom behaviour, and provide support where needed to help students stay focused. You’ll also give feedback to teaching staff on how lessons progressed.
This role offers an excellent introduction to the day-to-day life of a secondary school. Whether you’re thinking about applying for teacher training or exploring career paths that involve working with young people, this experience will build your confidence and expand your skillset. You’ll gain valuable insight into classroom dynamics, different teaching styles, and how schools operate behind the scenes.
We welcome graduates from all academic backgrounds—from Maths and English to Psychology, Sport, or the Arts. What matters most is your ability to lead a class with confidence, communicate effectively, and bring a positive, professional approach to everything you do. No prior school experience is required—just a genuine interest in education and a willingness to learn.
Many who start in this role go on to train as teachers, while others use the experience to move into careers in mentoring, coaching, social care, youth work, or other people-focused professions.
If you're looking for a rewarding role that allows you to contribute to local schools while building your own experience, we’d love to hear from you. Opportunities are available for both full-time and part-time work across Gosport secondary schools, with full training and ongoing support provided.
Apply now and take the first step toward a future in education.
