Working as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you’ll support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers and succeed both in and out of the classroom.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting Students

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Delivering small group interventions
  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
  • Using positive and trauma-informed approaches

Making a Real Impact

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Acting as a consistent, calm and supportive role model
  • Supporting pupils through both challenges and achievements

Working as Part of a Team

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Supporting personalised learning and behaviour plans
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress

Degree backgrounds we welcome:

  • Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology
  • Youth Work, Health & Social Care, Sports Science
  • Or any subject paired with a passion for working with young people

You’ll thrive if you: ✔ Are empathetic, patient, and resilient
✔ Have strong communication skills
✔ Are proactive and willing to learn
✔ Can commit Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm)
✔ Are willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS
