Job description

Thinking of Leaving the Classroom but Still Love Teaching?

Teach 1:1. Make a real difference. Work on your terms.

As a new term begins, many teachers and tutors start thinking: “There has to be another way.”
At TP Tutors, we support skilled educators who want to keep doing what they love — helping students succeed — without the pressures of the classroom.

We’re looking for Maths, English, and Science tutors to support secondary students working towards GCSEs, A Levels, Functional Skills, and ESOL.

If you’re patient, encouraging, and passionate about education, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

GCSE, A Level, Functional Skills & ESOL Tutor
Flexible – in-person or online (depending on the referral)

You’ll work 1:1 or in small settings, helping students build confidence, close learning gaps, and feel ready for their exams. Lessons are personalised, calm, and focused on the individual — not the crowd.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver tailored lessons that meet each student’s needs
  • Help students understand tricky topics in a clear, supportive way
  • Identify strengths and areas for improvement
  • Provide simple progress feedback to parents and schools

Who This Is For

  • Teachers, tutors, or educators with experience supporting secondary students
  • Confident in Maths, English, or Science
  • Patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in student progress
  • A teaching or education degree is helpful but not essential

What You’ll Get

  • £25 per hour starting rate (varies by referral)
  • Flexible hours that fit around your life
  • 24/7 access to our CPD Learning Academy
  • Ongoing support from a team that values educators
  • The chance to make a real, visible impact on students’ lives

Ready for a Fresh Start in 2026?

If you want to step away from the classroom but stay connected to teaching, TP Tutors offers a supportive, flexible alternative.
