Functional Skills Tutor

TP Tutors are proud to be working in partnership with South Tyneside Virtual School and schools across the South Tyneside and Gateshead area. We are seeking skilled and confident tutors to deliver Functional Skills in Maths and English, as well as GCSE support, to children who have experienced significant disruption to their education and may be unable to access mainstream schooling

This role may included working outside a mainstream setting.

The Role:

• Planning and delivering subject focused sessions.
• Providing constructive feedback and using this to plan next steps to enhance children’s learning.
• Being aware of the child’s needs and interests, using this to engage the children and take a child-centred approach to learning.
• Apply different behavioural strategies to engage the pupils in the session.

Tutor Requirements:

• Professional teaching qualifications are preferred.
• Experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH needs.
• 2 professional references that cover a 24 month of employment from a 10 year career history.
• An enhanced child workforce only DBS or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors.
